Run a translation
It’s quite straightforward:
Select an engine in the Translation Tab
For a single file to translate:
1/ Select a file
Be carefull on Vista or W7 of users rights, choose a directory in which you have right to write.
2/ Select initial and target languages
3/ Click on Start Engine button

4/ You can see the result clicking Open Target (a file named “XX_<your file>” has been created, XX = target language)
You can (often must) enhance the automatic translation. Select Improve Target button. and make your modifications in the Target Text column. Save your improvements and rebuid the target with the right bottom button.

You have also some searching and replacing capabilities in order to quickly make quick checks and improvements. It’s very simple and efficient.
All your improvements are stored in a memory (file <from>_to_<To>_DocTranslateImprove.xml in the directory pointed by “Memory Selection” field of TranslationTab), so your improvement are persistants. You can then easily translate and improve a file, make some modifications later and translate again the file, all your improvements will be restored, so your translations are more and more efficients.
If you want to import in DocTranslate a personnal existing translation memory, the xml format is:
<improvements> <c> <i>Initial string</i> <r>Result string</r> </c>
.....
</improvements>
You can Open your memory by click it’s name in the Translation Tab. Caution, this file is UTF8 coded and must keep it.

Be carefull on Vista or W7 of users rights, choose a directory in which you have right to write.
For all files in a directory:
1/ Select a directory

3/ Start Automatic Engine

4/ See the status of translation in Log Tab.
NB/
1/ Only doc(x) and ppt(x) files are translated.
2/ If you translate files to french language, files beginning with “fr_” will be ignored so you won’t translate files generated in a previous translation.
3/ The lastest translated file is automatically select when you open Doctranslate. You also have a history of the latests translations here:

Very simple, no really need more documentation !!
